Festival in the Desert
I’m not talking Burning Man, I’m talking the Festival in the Desert, Mali, West Africa. Accessible only by camel or 4×4 truck. I think it’d be a dream come true. Probably kind of expensive (Africa plane ticket, plus travel in country/getting there will be half the adventure). Who’s with me? Anyone? Seriously… it’d be amazing! Expensive, most likely, but amazing. And soon (January). Did I mention soon? Six months away IF we tried to go in 2009 (which, yes, would conflict with Thailand and SE Asia). Perhaps it should be 2010… not that I’ve ever planned a trip that far in advance, but I’m willing. Thoughts?
